From Hong Kong to Singapore – 10 Instagrammable places to see in 2019
Instagram is fast becoming a key driver when it comes to people choosing their next travel destination.
According to a survey by Big 7 Media, 67 per cent said they visited a new place after seeing photos on Instagram, while 61 per cent booked a specific hotel after seeing it on their Instagram feed.
While printed guidebooks still have their uses, more tourists are only turning to Instagram for travel recommendations – 33 per cent of those surveyed said they “research” their upcoming holiday destination via their Instagram feed.
Of the 77 per cent who take two to five holidays a year (including weekend breaks), the most popular travel content on social media are bucket-list experiences and luxury hotels.
