This Royal Caribbean private island cost US$250 million to build – and this is how it looks

- The US$250 million 125-acre Perfect Day at CocoCay, features family attractions, including a 135-foot-high waterslide at Thrill Waterpark, and the exclusive Coco Beach Club
Royal Caribbean International has officially opened Perfect Day at CocoCay, a private island in the Bahamas, which is available to passengers on the company’s ships.
The cruise line company has spent US$250 million transforming the island, which included installing features such as a 135-foot- (40-metre-) high waterslide and a 1,600-foot-long zip-line course. There are also restaurants, overwater cabanas, and an infinity pool.
While most of the 125-acre (50-hectare) island’s features are now in use by passengers, some will not open until the end of the year.

The island’s attractions include 13 water slides at the new Thrill Waterpark ...

... including one called Daredevil’s Peak, which stands 135 feet tall, and is one of a number of different water slides snaking out from the park’s castle-like tower.

The island also has a wave pool and an Up, Up and Away helium balloon ride that gives visitors a view of the island from a height of 450 feet.
