STYLE Edit: Anyone for a Cupcake or Marshmallow from Richard Mille’s tempting treats?

Sucette, Lollipop, Réglisse and Liquorice add to choice in irresistible buffet
Watch aficionados are always tempted by anything new from Richard Mille. With his Bonbon Collection, the subversive and wildly collectible watchmaker has made an irresistible buffet of sweet treats. There are 10 models, each limited to 30 pieces, six in the Fruit line and four in the Sweets line. Their extravagant decoration is the icing on a substantial cake as the re-imagined creations are based on the RM 07-03, RM 16-01 and RM 37-01.
Using an amazing palette of 60 colours, The Sweets line presents Cupcake, Marshmallow (both RM 07-03), Sucette or Lollipop (RM 37-01) and Réglisse or Liquorice (RM 16-01).
RM 07-03 is an icon in itself, powered by the skeletonised CRMA2 movement with variable-geometry rotor. Even existing owners might want to invigorate their collection with a Cupcake or a Marshmallow.
Take Cupcake which is recognisable by the cupcake that forms the crown on the white gold caseband. It’s a playful touch on a beautiful watch whose titanium dial is hand-enamelled in swirls of pink, purple and orange outlined in white gold and punctuated with sapphires and tsavorites, with hour markers in diamonds, sapphires and tsavorites. The blue of the sapphires is echoed in the bezel of TZP ceramic.
The same highly scratch-resistant ceramic in lavender pink lines the white ATZ ceramic bezel of Marshmallow while the gemset case bands are red gold. The dial is delightful, with billows of marshmallows in pink, green and yellow and pillar hour markers in tsavorites, pink sapphires and citrines. The humour of the piece hides the considerable expertise in tinting ceramics which is a Richard Mille speciality.
