Blancpain launches Traditional Chinese Calendar watch

Luxury Swiss watchmaker Blancpain has launched a limited-edition Traditional Chinese Calendar
timepiece to mark the Year of the Dog.
The new Blancpain watch is based on the fundamental principles deeply rooted within Chinese tradition, paying tribute to Chinese culture.
Operating on the self-winding Calibre 3638 movement, this watch features a seven-day power
reserve. The hours, minutes and the Gregorian calendar on the dial sit next to the main indications of the Chinese calendar, including signs of the zodiac, the five elements and the 10 celestial stems.

The watch is fitted with a white grand feu enamel dial featuring a chapter ring with applied gold hour-marker, and indications that are painted in gold before firing. The 45mm-diameter platinum case comprises five under-lug correctors serving to adjust the indications, complete with a crown adorned with a cabochon-cut ruby.
Limited to 50 pieces, the Chinese Calendar watch is equipped with a white gold oscillating weight and engraved with a detailed canine to celebrate the Lunar Year A non-limited red gold version is also available.
