Apple said it has managed to keep the Apple Watch’s 18-hour battery life even with the new always-on display.

This is thanks to the power-efficient, low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (or LTPO) display, which can vary its refresh rate from 1 hertz to 60 hertz, the company said.

The price of the Apple Watch Series 5 will start at US$400 for the GPS models and US$500 for the cellular models

The Apple Watch Series 5 also has better sensors and power management, it said.

Apple has added a compass app and functionality to the Apple Watch Series 5, too.

The new watches will support international emergency calling, could save lives when faced with an emergency while abroad.
