It took five years and 40 prototypes for Patek Philippe to come up with this beautiful mechanical addition to the iconic Twenty-4 collection. Although the new iteration bears very little resemblance to the original watch introduced 20 years ago, the Twenty-4 automatic promises to be the perfect companion for modern, self-confident women with active lifestyles.

Which watches would you buy if Patek Philippe gave you an unlimited budget?

The original watch with its rectangular case was powered by a quartz movement and was offered in various stainless steel versions and in gold as well. The new Twenty-4 automatic has been endowed with Calibre 324 S C, a self-winding movement with a Spiromax balance spring in Silinvar. It is crafted to the strict standards of the Patek Philippe Seal and exhibits elaborate manual finishing techniques such as chamfered and polished edges and Geneva striping, which can be admired through the sapphire-crystal caseback. If you look closely, the most obvious design similarity between the two models is in the bracelet construction with its cambered central links framed by two-tier outer links. The bracelet is elegant and supple, and it fits the wrist in the most comfortable way.

Which luxury watch brand sold the most expensive timepiece in Asia?

The self-winding version stands out with a totally new round case (36mm in diameter) featuring prominent yet subtle contours. Available in five versions – two in steel with diamond-set bezels, two in rose gold with diamond-set bezels and one in rose gold with diamonds set in the bezel, the bracelet and the crown – the Twenty-4 automatic is adorned with the delicate “Dentelle” or lacework style gem-setting technique where two-rows of offset precious stones give a dazzling look to the timepiece. All the diamonds on the watch are flawless Top Wesselton grade, comply with the directives of the Patek Philippe Seal and are set to the most exacting jewellers’ standards.

The perfect “everyday watch” for women who want to indulge in mechanical timepieces, the Twenty-4 automatic is an irresistible pick.
