Rebel Wilson is appreciating how far she’s come in her weight loss journey.

The Pitch Perfect star, who documented her “year of health” for fans on social media, just shared an old photo of one of her “unhealthiest” moments on Instagram.

“I know that I normally post flattering photos of myself … but found this old photo in my emails and was like: whoa! I remember this was when I was at my most unhealthiest – being overweight and indulging way too much with junk food,” Wilson wrote in the caption, alongside a snap of her smiling next to tennis superstar Novak Djokovic at a 2014 charity tennis tournament.

Wilson revealed that she was “using food to numb my emotions” to cope with the death of her father, who “passed away of a heart attack”.

“It was such a sad time. I didn’t think highly of myself and wasn’t valuing myself how I should have,” she continued, noting that she was “in so much pain” at the time, despite “smiling and still trying to be active” in the photo.

Despite her past feelings of shame, Wilson said she can now “look back now at that girl and am so proud of what she’s become and achieved” and offered some words of encouragement to those struggling with weight or body issues.
