SCL to provide six interchange stations, allowing passengers to switch to other MTR lines easily

Like a new canal that brings new energy to the place it runs through, the Shatin-Central Line (SCL) will substantially improve connectivity of the CBD2 to the rest of the city and bring it closer to the mainland and the rest of the world with the addition of six interchange stations along the line.

Like a new canal that brings new energy to the place it runs through, the Shatin-Central Line (SCL) will substantially improve connectivity of the CBD2 to the rest of the city and bring it closer to the mainland and the rest of the world with the addition of six interchange stations along the line.

Connecting the existing West Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line to form what will be called the East West Corridor, the SCL will bridge the current Diamond Hill and Central Stations by adding Kai Tak, To Kwa Wan, Ma Tau Wai, Ho Man Tin and Exhibition Centre Stations in between.

The SCL will give residents living near the new stations much more convenient access to the traditional CBD on Hong Kong Island. For example, for residents living around To Kwa Wan Station, Exhibition Station will just be four stops away.

Admiralty Station, a major interchange station of the Island Line, will only be five stops away. Commuters will be able to reach Central, Causeway Bay and the rest of Hong Kong Island easily, including the Southside via South Island Line.

Hung Hom Station, as another interchange station where several MTR lines converge, allows passengers to switch to West Rail Line and East Rail Line for convenient access to most developed areas of the New Territories, from west to east.

The future Ho Man Tin Station will also be directly linked to the existing Jordan Station, where commuters can switch to the Tsuen Wan Line westbound, or the Kwun Tong Line eastbound.

For those who need to commute to the mainland, switching trains at Tai Wai Station for Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau Stations will make the journey to the north much easier. An alternative route to cross the border is to take the Intercity Through Train at Hung Hom Station, which is only three stops from To Kwa Wan Station.

If you are a keen traveller and considering a cruise vacation once a year, you can easily board your cruise ship at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. Other than self driving or taxi, the quickest and arguably simplest option is to get off at Kai Tak Station.

Access to the airport will also be greatly improved. Setting off from To Kwa Wan Station, you can easily reach Central Station and switch to the Airport Express, which takes you directly to the airport in just 24 minutes.
