
The Hong Kong MBA Festival 2016, which took place December 10 at the JW Marriott Hotel, was a gathering of the world’s top educators and business minds. Among the prestigious exhibitors were some of the top business schools in Hong Kong, mainland China, and the entire world.
Those in attendance were given the chance to learn, in greater depth, about the benefits of pursuing an MBA or related post-graduate degrees, as well as the different types of programmes on offer amongst the event’s plethora of great institutions.
The exhibition featured Hong Kong’s own Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), City University of Hong Kong (CityU), Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
Over 20 other world-renowned institutions were in attendance, including INSEAD, who have the top ranked MBA programme in the world according to Financial Times; Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), Fudan University, Shanghai JiaoTong University, National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, University of Manchester, and University of Northern Iowa, just to name a few.
A highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring a diverse group of experts, including Sachin Tipnis, executive director, MBA Programmes, HKU; Stephanie Villemagne, associate dean (Graduate Programmes) & director, MBA programmes, CUHK Business School and Sean O. Ferguson, associate dean (MBA & MSc Programmes) & director of MBA programmes, HKUST Business School.

Topics of discussion included the benefits of pursuing an MBA degree, globalisation and entrepreneurship, China as a premier marketplace of the future, and choosing the right programme.
