“Great business ideas just come to you, anyone can have them,” she says… before adding,” but after that, it's 1000 per cent about the execution.”
The ability to put in the hours and the effort required to reach the necessary standard of execution was developed on her MBA programme.
“I learned resiliency and gained stamina. I worked three part-time jobs while pursuing a full-time MBA, and I was able to immediately practice what I was learning inside the classroom or from my peers, on the job. I networked with my classmates, but more importantly, I went off campus and made my own opportunities for myself, building my network and rolodex in the process.”
Before founding Glam‐it!, Cheng took management positions with Darizi and Rackspace Hosting, then spent time advising startups uBuyiBuy and BEECRAZY,
With parents originally from Hong Kong, but born and brought up in the United States herself, Cheng chose to enrol on an MBA programme at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
