The death of US Supreme Court justice and feminist icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg has sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes from around the world, including Asia.
Legal scholars and feminists in China joined those mourning Bader Ginsburg’s death, recalling her eagerness to learn more about the Chinese legal system and her hope for the development of the rule of law in their country.
In addition to sharing how Bader Ginsburg’s lifelong struggle against gender discrimination – both in her own career and her court rulings – inspired them, the Chinese legal community is keenly watching the tussle over the appointment of her successor.
