14 killed, 33 injured in Myanmar bus crash YANGON - Fourteen people were killed and 33 injured yesterday when a bus plunged off the side of a mountain in western Myanmar, police said. The vehicle was travelling from Yangon to Thandwe in Rakhine. A police Facebook page said brake failure was the suspected cause of the accident. There were no reports of any foreigners on board. Traffic accidents are common in Myanmar, where the transport network is in poor condition owing to decades of underinvestment. AFP Cambodia to buy 12 Chinese helicopters PHNOM PENH - Cambodia will use part of a US$195 million loan from China to buy 12 of its military helicopters and boost its tiny fleet, its defence minister said. It is the latest deal to underline Beijing's tight alliance with Cambodia. Tea Banh did not disclose the cost of the 12 Chinese-built Zhi-9 helicopters, but said they would be for use mainly in humanitarian missions.
