Toxic ‘devil’s trumpet’ weed blamed for causing hallucinations in Australia spinach-eaters

  • The plant, also known thornapple and jimsonweed, was accidentally harvested and packed alongside baby spinach from a New South Wales producer
  • At least 190 people reported symptoms including hallucinations and blurred vision thought to be related to their consumption of the weed
