South Korea’s Yoon Suk-yeol chided for saying scrapping gender ministry will help women

  • The president is all set to dissolve the ministry, suggesting its structure doesn’t do enough to protect victims of sexual abuse by those in power
  • More than 100 rights groups denounced the plan, saying it is a ‘regression to the past when women were used as a tool for population policy’
