An AirAsia X flight attendant has become a global internet sensation overnight, after a video of him performing Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’ dance routine in an empty aircraft, went viral.

Assraf Nasir’s enthusiastic rendition of the 2003 music video by Britney was originally posted on his personal Facebook page, with the caption, “When someone plays ‘Toxic’ on the plane.”

In the video, Assraf can be seen mimicking Britney’s routine from her music video, including; answering the cabin intercom phone and pushing the service cart down the jetliner’s aisle, all the while dancing and lip-syncing to the catchy song.

The video has garnered over 11 million views so far, and has been featured in numerous international news organisations, including Time magazine, the Daily Mail, and Mashable, among others.

If there was any worry that Assraf’s obvious talent and penchant for showmanship will get him into trouble with his employer, what transpired was quite the contrary.

Assraf’s antic did get the attention of Tony Fernandes, AirAsia Group’s head honcho and his reaction was one of admiration.
