Singapore logs 447 new coronavirus cases in highest daily jump

  • New infections include 404 cases linked to migrant worker dormitories
  • Singapore has so far recorded 3,699 cases and 10 coronavirus-related deaths

Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) on Wednesday announced 447 more cases of Covid-19 in the city state, taking the total to 3,699.

It is the highest single-day jump in infections in the island nation, the previous high being the 386 cases reported on Monday.

In a statement, MOH said that it had also identified four new clusters of infections: 10 Kian Teck Crescent dormitory, Kian Teck Dormitory (26 Kian Teck Avenue), 234 Balestier Road and Mandai Lodge at 460 Mandai Road.

The ministry said that for the past five days, the country has not seen any new imported cases, including Wednesday.

Of the 447 new cases, 38 are local cases in the community, MOH said.

Of the remaining cases, five are work permit holders residing outside of dormitories while 404 are work permit holders residing in the dormitories.
