The manager of a scrap metal dealer in Malaysia’s Melaka state has been stabbed to death over a lewd remark at a 26-year-old woman, police said.

The 35-year-old man from Bukit Rambai died at about 4.30am on Tuesday at Melaka Hospital while receiving treatment for stab wounds to his chest, said Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit, officer in charge of the Melaka Tengah police district.

He said a fiery dispute had erupted after the victim, who was supposedly drunk, made a sarcastic comment about the woman’s breast size when she entered a stall in Taman Kenanga, Tengkera at about 4am on Tuesday to have a meal with her boyfriend and bodyguard.

A brawl broke out after the woman’s 27-year-old bodyguard overheard the victim uttering the remark, Patit said.
