The Star

The posh, three-storey house in Malaysia’s capital of Kuala Lumpur was occupied by foreign prostitutes who provide their services for fees of up to 3,500 ringgit (US$900).
The “romps”, which were either a 45-minute or 90-minute session, were offered by a syndicate that supplied women from countries such as China and Japan.
The syndicate had been operating from the detached house in the upscale residential area of Desa Pahlawan for about six months.
However, their illicit activities came to an end when immigration officers raided the bungalow at about 12.30am on Thursday.
Forty foreigners, aged between 21 and 43, were arrested.
One of them was the “salesman”, tasked with sourcing clients through online platforms. Another was believed to be the mastermind of the operation. Both men are Chinese nationals.
“The syndicate is believed to have targeted both foreign and Malaysian clients, charging 1,000 ringgit for 45 minutes and 3,500 ringgit for 90 minutes,” the immigration department’s deputy director general for operations, Lokman Effendi Ramli, said on Friday.


“We believe the bungalow had been modified and equipped to facilitate immoral activities,” he added.
“The premises, located in an upscale residential neighbourhood, were allegedly chosen to avoid detection by enforcement agencies.”
Others detained were 11 Chinese men and 19 Chinese women, five Vietnamese women, two Myanmar women and two Japanese women.
“Initial checks showed the ringleader and another Chinese man held valid work passes. Six Chinese men and 19 Chinese women, two Japanese women and five Vietnamese women had social visit passes, while the rest had no valid travel documents or permits to stay in the country,” Lokman told Bernama news agency.
The enforcement team seized 36 passports of various nationalities, as well as 26,600 ringgit in cash. Two cars – a Honda and a Tesla Model 3 – were also confiscated.
All detainees have been taken to the Putrajaya Immigration Office for further action.
A Singaporean man and a local man have been issued notices to appear to assist in investigations, according to Lokman.
“We will continue to take firm action against any activities that violate Malaysian laws to ensure the country’s stability and prosperity remain safeguarded,” he said.
