Six people were killed on Monday and at least 14 injured when a tour bus collided with a cargo truck and burst into flames on the main Beijing to Shanghai expressway.
Five German tourists and one Chinese passenger were killed in the ensuing blaze, and at least 14 other people were injured in the crash.
Photos posted by witnesses on the internet showed the vehicle engulfed in flames and dark smoke.
The bus was part of a tour organised by the Beijing Youth Travel Service and had set out from Beijing on Monday morning. 
The other vehicle in the collision was believed to be a container truck with Henan licence plates.
The accident happened at a junction between Beijing and Tianjin, on an expressway linking the capital with Shanghai.
There are no reports of how many people were travelling in the buses. 
The German foreign ministry said there were a total of 19 Germans on board the bus. The bus passengers were part of a tour group organised by the Beijing-based China Youth Travel Service, Xinhua said.
The German embassy in Beijing has sent staff to Tianjin to deal with the accident, Xinhua said. The embassy was closed on Monday and could not be reached for comment.
China National Radio on Monday had earlier reported there were foreigners on the bus at the time of the fire.
Traffic police in Tianjin’s Wuqing district said they were on their way to the crash site.
