Hundreds of taxi drivers in China’s eastern Zhejiang province joined a strike on Wednesday, the Labor Day, to protest competition from illegal taxis and the lack of law enforcement.

Upset taxi drivers in Zhejiang’s Wenling city said making a living was becoming extremely hard due to the increasing number of taxis operating without legal licences. They were also concerned with the rising cost of petrol and traffic congestions.
City officials, after talking with workers on the scene, said they would work out solutions soon, according to website CRI online.
