Five students arrested in Shenzhen for smuggling replica air guns and ammunition
They were allegedly lured over the internet by promises of cash for the weapons and ammo

Shenzhen border police have arrested five people – all college students in Guangdong – for smuggling 41 air guns modelled on real pistols and more than 3,000 lead bullets for the replica weapons into Shenzhen from Hong Kong, the China News Services reported today
The report did not mention when and where the people were caught.
It said the students were lured over the internet by a gun dealer who offered 550 yuan (HK$700) for delivering an air gun and 1,200 yuan for a long-barrelled gun as well as money for ammunition into Shenzhen through the checkpoints.
According to the district procurators, Shenzhen has a growing black market for smuggled replica guns as the number of young people using them for war games is on the rise.
The students would allegedly disassemble a replica gun into parts and carry them in their luggage across the border to the mainland.
The gun dealers would reassemble the guns and drum up trades online through chat rooms and social media. The dealers would accept payment by credit card, Paypal or direct deposit at specific mainland bank accounts.
