Police taskforce which helped put disgraced Liu brothers behind bars wins top award
Liu Han, 48, was found guilty of 13 charges – including murder and illegally selling firearms – and sentenced to death in May. His younger brother, Liu Wei, 44, was also given the death sentence

A specialist police team which helped put corrupt tycoon brothers Liu Han and Liu Wei behind bars has won first place in “China’s top 10 cops”.
The elder brother, former mining magnate Liu Han, has been linked to former security tsar Zhou Yongkang – who is himself under investigation – and was sentenced to death for a string of offences.
The results of the award, organised by state broadcaster CCTV and the Ministry of Public Security, were unveiled on Monday, Caixin magazine reported.
Known as Office 1.10, the special task force is under the direct command of the Ministry of Public Security and is composed of officers from Beijing, Hubei and Sichuan.
Liu Han, 48, was found guilty of 13 charges – including murder, organising casinos, running a mafia-style gang and illegally selling firearms – and sentenced to death in late May.
