Subway train derails during test run in Beijing

A subway train derailed around 3pm today during a test run on the southeastern outskirts of Beijing.

Photos posted by witnesses online indicated no passengers were on board at the time. The run was being carried out on the Taihu section of the Yizhuang Line.

At least three train carriages came off the tracks, with one having fallen into a narrow river gutter.

One photo showed the broken interior of a  carriage.
