Annual basketball friendly between Chinese and Taiwanese university teams ends in brawl
Two rival basketball players sent to hospital as tempers fray during game

An annual friendly basketball competition, which has featured mainland and Taiwanese university teams in the past few years, ended in a brawl on Friday with two rival players taken to hospital.
One player from the National Taiwan University of Arts team was attacked by members of Peking University's team sitting on the substitute's bench two minutes before the end of Friday evening's Golden City Cup match on Quemoy island, Taiwan's China Times reported.
Lee Po-lun, coach for the NTUA basketball team, told the newspaper there were only about four to six points separating the two teams when his player was attacked by rival players.
Lee said his player did not fight back and none of his players joined the brawl.
The tournament referee ruled that because of the brawl, no winner would be declared. The newspaper report did not reveal which team had been leading.
PKU were the Asian university basketball champions last year.
Two players - one from each team - were taken to hospital for X-rays, but were not admitted.
