Firemen free 22 survivors through roof hatch of tour coach
A Taiwanese woman died and several other tourists were injured when a bus with 23 people on board was buried in a landslide on Saturday morning in the mainland Chinese province of Fujian, local authorities said.
The bus, carrying a tour group from Taiwan, was hit by mud and falling rocks on a highway in Yongding district of Longyan prefectural level city in the southwest of the province, the Longyan fire prevention bureau said.
Three fire teams assisted the rescue. By 1pm, the remaining 22 people had been freed from the wreckage through the roof hatch. Rescuers said it was raining heavily at the time of the accident.
