Chinese firms see more stable business environment in US despite tensions, survey says

- The uptick in optimism follows years of deteriorating views of the environment for Chinese firms operating in the US

Chinese parent companies were committed to operating in the US as part of their long-term global strategy and increasing the reinvestment of US profit into operations in the country, despite lower revenues and profits last year, according to the results.
CGCC polled 183 companies – from financial services to information technology sectors – as well as interviewing a select number of executives in March and April.

The uptick in optimism follows years of deteriorating views of the environment for Chinese firms operating in the US. Six years ago, more than 60 per cent of executives surveyed said they were happy with the environment they operated in. That shrank to 27 per cent in the latest survey.
