Taiwan has ordered three mainland Chinese women – all married to Taiwanese men – to leave the island for advocating cross-strait unification by force, sparking criticism that the move was a violation of free speech.

China said its coastguard expelled four Japanese fishing vessels from waters near the disputed Diaoyu Islands over the weekend, after Tokyo accused Beijing of escalating tensions in the East China Sea.

In a bid to disrupt the United States’ long-held dominance in space exploration, China is quietly advancing a radical new rocket launch system – powered not by roaring engines but by electromagnetic force – that could propel satellites into orbit with unprecedented speed and efficiency.
6. Unaffected by EU’s tariffs on EVs, China’s hybrid-vehicle exports surge to bloc
China’s exports of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) to the European Union – which are not currently subject to additional tariffs – surged in the first two months of this year, while shipments of pure passenger electric vehicles (EVs) slowed amid trade barriers that have been refortified since last year.
7. For China’s private sector, Beijing’s long-sought decree seen as key to getting paid
Enough of China’s small enterprises have run up against insurmountable roadblocks in trying to collect payments for services rendered – including from state-owned firms and local governments – that Beijing has responded with legislation to help wipe out such arrears.
