Taiwan to phase out ageing F-5 fighter jets after pilot’s fatal crash

  • All of the planes will be decommissioned in 2024 and replaced by Yung Yin (Brave Eagle) advanced trainer jets
  • Pilot was killed last week after reporting a mechanical problem in an engine during a training exercise
