4:14pm: The Hang Seng index finished the day 0.49 per cent lower at 24,497.98. The H share index also weakened throughout the day and closed down 1.21 per cent at 11,137.33.
3:41pm: Sinocom Software Group has surged 10.4 per cent to HK$2.86 since resuming trading after the lunch break. The company’s stock was suspended pending news on its acquisition of Kingworld Beijing for HK$450 million.
3:23pm: London Stock Exchange has accepted BOCI Securities as its first member from Hong Kong, the first local firm to join the bourse after Securities and Futures Commission granted a license to the LSE so that it can accept Hong Kong firms to become members.
“We are very pleased to welcome BOCI as our first Hong Kong member. In joining our markets, it underscores the unique and increasing appeal that London holds as the venue of choice for Chinese investment, trading and capital raising. Today’s announcement will strengthen London and the UK’s ties with Greater China and reinforce our reputation as one of the world’s leading international financial centres,” said Raffaele Jerusalmi, Director of Capital Markets of London Stock Exchange.
3:15pm: The Shanghai Composite index fell in late trading to close down 2.2 per cent at 3,705.77. The CSI 300 also slid in the final minutes of trading and finished down 2.93 per cent at 3,815.41.
