- China can ‘overcome any difficulty’ and ‘achieve anything we want to’ if the party’s leadership is firmly upheld, Xi says

“The facts have proved that the Communist Party is the most reliable backbone to achieve our great goals, and as long as the leadership of the party is firmly upheld, [we] can overcome any difficulty and obstacles in our path forward, and be able to achieve anything we want to achieve,” Xi said on Friday.
He was speaking at a ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to give out 148 medals to individuals and groups for the Olympics and the Winter Paralympic Games, which concluded in February and March respectively.
Xi attributed the success of the Games to the leadership of the party and China’s ability to mobilise considerable resources.
“The outstanding capacity of China’s socialist system to mobilise, to coordinate and to implement, as well as China’s solid economic, technological and comprehensive power, was a strong foundation of the successful holding of the Olympic Games,” he said.
