Doctors in a hospital in Luoyang, Henan province, have removed a 6cm-long rusty needle from the head of a 58-year-old woman, Dahe Daily reports.

The needle is thought to have been lodged in Wang Xiaohong’s brain since she was a child and has caused her headaches over the decades.

She also suffered epilepsy three decades ago, and didn’t know about the needle in her head until she had an X-ray after another epileptic fit recently.

“I really have no idea why there was a needle in there. I have no idea how it could have happened,” Wang said.

She had been to countless doctors in search of a cause for her constant headaches and epilepsy but to no avail until now.

The woman, who reportedly got along well with her family, suspected the needle was accidentally lodged in her head when she was little.
