According to Dahe.cn, the 30-year-old man visited the restaurant in Henan province’s Luoyang city with two other men and a woman during the week-long national holiday early this month.

The group ordered dumplings but grew impatient waiting for them to arrive. They began to quarrel with the owner, which led to his wife trying to intervene but to no avail.

One of the men suddenly produced a sharp weapon and attacked the owner, striking him on the head and peeling away nearly half the flesh of his skull.

The four customers fled the scene and the owner was sent to hospital, where he is recovering.

While the fight was taking place, the wife of the owner managed to grab a car key belonging to a member of the group. The police are hunting for a Chevrolet vehicle and have inspected more than 800 vehicles so far in the hopes of locating the suspects.
