Hunt for killer in southern China after two boys stabbed to death in park with surviving victim knifed 23 times

Police in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong are hunting for a killer after two boys were stabbed to death in a park.

The attacker is supected to be mentally ill and is armed with a knife, the China News Service reported.

The boys aged eight and nine were found dead in a park in Heyuan on Saturday afternoon, the report said.

Another boy, aged nine, was stabbed in the neck and has a wound in the corner of his eye. He is in a stable condition in hospital.

A medical source in Heyuan said the surving boy suffered 23 stab wounds. All three victims were believed to have attended the same primary school.

Few details have been released about the suspected killer, but police said he was aged between 30 and 40, according to the report.
