Chinese boy, 6, shoots himself in the hand after finding a gun under bed

A six-year-old boy shot himself in the hand after he found a gun under the bed at his home, a newspaper reported.

The boy from the Futian district of Shenzhen was looking for a lost marble when he found the pistol, the Southern Metropolis News said.

He lives with his father and grandparents and was playing by himself last month when the accident happened.

He later told his mother, who has separated from his father, that he thought it was a toy gun and took it outside to play with it.

He pulled the trigger and injured his hand.

His mother was quoted as saying that the boy needed skin grafts.
