A Chinese male tourist who dressed as a woman to enter the female section of a public bath in Wakayama prefecture in western Japan was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of unlawful entry into the building, police said.

Xia Liang, 36, allegedly went into a women’s dressing room at a seaside open-air bath in the town of Shirahama, a major tourist spot, wearing a kimono and long wig, at about 10.30 am on Sunday.

He then wrapped himself in a towel and entered a women’s bath, according to the police.
