Chinese boy, aged 3, unharmed after inserting scissors up his nose

A toddler in eastern China narrowly avoided brain damage after he inserted a pair of scissors us his right nostril, according to a local newspaper.

The three-year-old boy was sent to Yuyao No3 People’s Hospital in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, at 7pm on Monday, the Qianjiang Evening News reported.

CT scans at the hospital showed the tip of the scissors barely reaching the boy’s brain tissues through the nose.

Doctors told the newspaper the boy’s condition was not life threatening and no symptoms of injury were found.

According to the report, the boy was playing with the scissors at home in the presence of his parents, who were too busy to notice the danger.

The boy was then sent on the same night to the provincial capital Hangzhou for further observation.
