Primary school teacher in Southern China beats 16 students for disturbing his nap

A primary school teacher in Southern China beat 16 of his students after they disturbed his afternoon nap, according to a local newspaper.
Dozens of parents gathered outside the Guangzhou Bowen School in Guangdong province on Wednesday morning demanding to know why the teacher beat more than a dozen of second-grade students from the same class at noon on Tuesday, the Information Times reported.

Photos posted by parents showed welts and bruises on the backs of some of the students.
“We were having a nap after lunch, but couldn’t fall asleep in the beginning. Then the teacher came in and beat us when we were chatting,” one of students named Ke was quoted as saying.

According the report, the teacher surnamed Yan , who had taught information technology at the school for two years, admitted beating the children because their noise disturbed his nap.
