A doctor who came to the aid of a severely ill woman who had collapsed in western China was beaten at the scene by two of her relatives who were unhappy with the care he gave her, a news website reported.
Wu Jianqiang was told by the emergency medical services in Deyang in Sichuan province that the woman had collapsed and he took three minutes to get to the scene, Newssc.org said.
He arrived with a nurse and two medical assistants at about 1.06 am.

“I ran towards a building’s fourth floor and saw a female patient in her 40s with two men standing next to her. There was no sign of life after numerous rescue measures,” Wu was quoted as saying.
“When the nurses were still performing CPR hoping for a miracle, I told the patients’ relatives to be prepared that she might not make it, but they thought we were wasting time while performing these rescue measures on site instead of sending her to a hospital,” Wu said.
The patient’s relatives then turned on the doctor, beating him with a 30-cm long wooden baton and threatening him with a knife.
