Chinese man’s secret stash of cash from his wife chewed up by puppy

A man from northern China tried to hide cash from his wife in a quilt, but it was chewed up and destroyed by the couple’s puppy, a newspaper reported.

The husband from Lushun in Liaoning province put 3,800 yuan (HK$4,500) in 100 yuan notes in the quilt, according to the Peninsula Morning Post.

It was later discovered by his five-month-old puppy Harry who tried to eat it.

Pictures posted online show an innocent looking Harry and a completely torn up quilt, along with the chewed up banknotes.

It was not the first time Harry had destroyed things in the home, according to the article.

He had also chewed up the corner of a sofa and a wallet.

The couple is planning to give him up for adoption, the report said.
