Traffic officer stopped driver for illegal parking moments before crash
This was the horrifying moment a driver mowed down a group of people as he made his getaway from a traffic officer.
The motorist had been questioned moments before for illegal parking in Chengdu city, China - but ignored the warning and sped off towards a bike lane.
Shocking CCTV footage shows him running down moped riders before careering towards the pavement and knocking over pedestrians.

He then continues along the bike lane the wrong way, leaving the traffic officer running helplessly behind him.
Four people were injured in the crash on Sunday.
Police said on its official social media account on Monday night they had detained a 21-year-old suspect in a village in Meishan city, Sichuan province, over the incident.
