A truck driver has admitted that he chose to smash into the back of a cheaper car rather than an expensive Audi when confronted by a pile-up in southern China, according to a newspaper report.
The accident happened on an airport expressway in Wuhan in Hubei province on Monday morning, the Guangming Daily said.
A cheap Citroën had earlier crashed into the back of a cement truck on the road, according to the report. The wreckage was left on the road after the injured were taken to hospital.

The truck driver driving in the area saw the accident ahead and had time to swerve into the cheaper Citroën rather than an Audi that had stopped nearby.
