‘It will cause deaths, seriously’: Giant metal slide set for Shanghai mall scores cynicism online

A huge five-storey slide shaped like a metal tube has been built in a shopping mall in China’s largest city, the Shanghai Morning Post reports.

A photo posted on the paper’s Weibo account shows the giant slide snaking from the fifth floor to the ground floor of the Printemps mall in Pudong New Area.

The series of photos quickly attracted comments from internet users, which were mostly negative.

“I feel like it will cause deaths, seriously,” said a top comment which was liked more than 6,500 times.

“It’s very scary, I feel like if you die in there, it’ll take a while for people to find out,” said another which received 4,500 likes.

“It’ll be more fun if it was transparent,” a comment said.
