Brrr! China’s chilly weather is not over yet, as cold snap returns
Sharp fall in temperatures by up to 15 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, with heavy rain and sleet in some southern and eastern areas, China Meteorological Administration warns

Get ready to shiver! Another cold snap – with heavy rain and sleet in some areas – began to head for southern and eastern China on Monday which will see temperatures fall by as much as 15 degrees Celsius, the China Meteorological Administration warns.
Provinces in southern, central and eastern areas of the Yangtze River will experience a sharp drop in temperatures from Wednesday night, the weather forecast department’s website said.
Most of southern China has been enjoying temperatures of more than 20 degrees over the past week, but average temperatures across the region could fall by eight to 12 degrees later this week.

The Hong Kong Observatory’s website has warned that Hong Kong will experience a “marked drop in temperatures on Thursday” - down from Wednesday’s low of 18 degrees to 11 degrees on Thursday, and 10 degrees on Friday before rising to 12 degrees on Saturday.
Top temperatures in Hong Kong on Thursday will reach an average of 18 degrees, then drop to 13 degrees on Friday and 15 degrees on Saturday.
On Saturday, Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province, was basking in temperatures of up to 27 degrees, but later this week it will fall to as low as 8 degrees in the city, the mainland weather forecast department’s website said.
The cold snap will also be accompanied by heavy rainfall across much of southern and eastern China, as well as sleet in some areas.
