Blooming cheek: Chinese tourists under fire for boorish behaviour during cherry blossom display
Badly-behaved tourists who came to see cherry blossom trees in flower at a city in eastern China have come under fire.
Some visitors kicked the trees in Nanjing or climbed up them to ensure they got a good photograph or selfie.
Some of their pictures were published on social media and were heavily criticised online.
One picture of a middle-aged woman who had climbed a tree wearing high heels attracted strong criticism. “With her heavy body weighing on those thin branches, isn’t she worried about falling off?” one person wrote.
Another picture posted on social media shows a man kicking a cherry blossom tree so its petals would fall loose.
Tourists from all over China have come to Nanjing to enjoy the cherry blossoms.
Blooming lovely: why people are breaking INTO a jail in southern China

The media in China regularly reports on the poor behaviour of some Chinese tourists, sparking a debate on the need for better manners and more consideration for others.
