A funeral home in China has introduced special services such as spas and facial treatments for the dead, according to a news agency report.

Other services such as massages and manicures were also introduced earlier this year at the Babaoshan Funeral Home in Beijing, the China News Service reported.

The cost of the services ranges from 500 yuan (HK$595) to 2,000 yuan, according to the article. Family members can observe the whole process through a window.

The report said the funeral home, opened in 1958, has tried to keep abreast of changes in funeral culture in modern society.

This includes playing music the deceased loved during funerals and decorating the funeral hall with their favourite plants or art works, the report said.
