A six-year old boy from southwest China has died after falling from the family’s 21st floor apartment while his mother was out playing mahjong, according to a newspaper report. The accident happened early on Thursday in Chongqing while the boy’s mother was at a neighbour’s home, the Chongqing Morning Post reported. Police were quoted as saying that they believed the boy had been locked in the apartment for the whole night. He may have tried to get out from a balcony and fallen, police said. More than one neighbour said they heard the child crying late at night, but did not report it as the boy was also coughing and they thought he was ill, the newspaper reported. The police investigation is continuing, the report said.
