Passenger furious after he was charged US$61 for a 300-metre shuttle bus trip at Chinese airport

An airport in eastern China has denied ripping off a passenger after he complained that he was charged 398 yuan (HK$475) for a 300-metre shuttle bus trip, a newspaper reported.
The authorities at Wenzhou Airport in Zhejiang province said the man had been told the bus was only free for first-class passengers and he had been warned about the cost, the Beijing Times reported.
The bus takes passengers from aircraft to the terminal building and costs the same whatever the distance for passengers not flying first class, according to the article.
Details of the original complaint were widely shared on social media in China.
The passenger said he felt cheated after travelling only 300 metres on May 4.
