A man from southern China who received widespread praise on social media after he was photographed coming to the aid of nursery school children during severe flooding has been tracked down and identified.
The man was pictured in Maoming in Guangdong province helping children get through fast-flowing floodwater last week.
The pictures went viral on social media and readers started trying to track him down.
One reader visited all the hair salons in one street as he believed the man’s dyed braids were a typical hair style for staff at hair salons in the area, Xinhua reported.
The Good Samaritan was finally identified as 26-year-old Zhou Tufang, the report said.
