Huge brawl erupts at train station in China in row over ‘invalid tickets’

Couple enlist support of about 30 steel workers after getting embroiled in dispute with station staff in Hunan province, newspaper reports

A row over tickets at a train station in central China turned into a huge brawl, with nine people injured in clashes, according to a newspaper report.

A couple got involved in a dispute over using invalid tickets with staff at a station in Shaoshan in Hunan province, the Beijing Times reported.

The dispute turned into a brawl and the couple, whose full names were not given, called people they knew at a nearby steel plant to come to their aid. About 30 people turned up and joined the fight on Friday, the article said.

The nine injured included five train station staff and four steel workers.

Six people have turned themselves in and the police investigation is continuing, the report said.
