Reservoir bather taunts internet users with photos of her feet dangling in city’s water supply
Officials launch probe into how pair were able to go bathing in city’s supposedly secure and patrolled dam
A woman who posted a photo of herself and a friend bathing their feet in a Chinese city’s drinking water source has prompted a furious response online, local media reported.
“I wonder if the people of Tongchuan would drink my footbath water?” wrote Weibo user “MOMO136” in the post on Sunday.
The photo showed two pairs of legs soaking in the water of the Taoqupo Reservoir, the main drinking water supply for Tongchuan city and surrounding counties in Shaanxi province.
The post was retweeted many times but it was the provocative tone of the post that angered internet users, many of whom demanded a public apology from the woman and a pledge from local water authorities to provide better protection of the local drinking water supply, China Business News reported.
